Néstor Bustamante was born in Córdoba, Argentina, where he studied Computer Science at the National University of Córdoba. With over 20 years of experience, he has worked as a consultant and technology and operations leader for global organizations including American Airlines, HP, EF, and Siemens. He has co-founded technology ventures in Argentina and China, partnering with companies such as Google and Intel, and has lived in five countries across three continents.
After spending six years in Shanghai, Néstor now lives in Berlin, where he serves as Global Head of Operations for the AI department at Springer Nature, one of the world’s largest academic publishers. He leads the enablement, governance, and adoption of AI across the organization, specializing in coordinating large-scale research, development, and innovation portfolios.
Néstor also supports international initiatives in education, sustainability, and scientific knowledge dissemination. He publishes on critical thinking, internet governance, and technological development in China and Asia, contributes to print, TV, and radio media, and is a TEDx speaker. He serves on the boards of the Association of Argentinians in China and the Network of Argentinian Scientists in Germany.
